Welcome
Cat is a landscape artist based in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. She takes her inspiration from woodlands across the UK, exploring the stories that the woods reveal.
Her woodland scenes are painted in distinctive broken brushmarks, in this way she can interpret light and the seasons to create paintings that you feel you can step into. The experience of the painting changes as you move closer to the surface of the canvas and back out again, akin to zooming into a pixelated image.

Cat has recently been featured on this year’s Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year as a heat contestant in the first episode of the season.

Her artwork, In Nature's Embrace, was shortlisted this year for The British Art Prize, with an exhibition in Oxo Gallery London in January.

She has also had work selected twice for The Society of Botanical Artists annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries.

Cat exhibits regularly at Affordable Art Fair Hampstead and Battersea, and also organises and curates an annual group exhibition ‘Connected’ in Henley and hopefully soon a second one in North Yorks.

Cat has been featured in various publications such including Leisure Painter, New Artist and Artist and Illustrator, and her work can be found on cards published by Museums and Galleries.

If you would like to learn some of her process, she also runs a variety of painting courses.

NEWS
Landscape Artist of the Year 2024
Cat featured as a 'pod' artist in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2024, episode one.

'It was an amazing July day, our chosen scene was Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven, Aberdeen and we were really lucky it was glorious weather. '

'With not a tree in sight, painting the Castle was a challenge and I was pleased with the final result.'
I was thrilled to be one of 50 artists shortlisted for The British Art Prize, held at the Oxo Tower Gallery in London.
As it happens I had sold the original large artwork that was shortlisted, but I was able to exhibit a smaller version - so strange as I rarely paint the same scene twice, but in this instance I had!
