I adore Portugal, particularly the Alentejo region with its cork oaks and olive trees.  This beautiful place is on a fabulous estate where I have been lucky enough to stay a couple of times - Herdade Dos Alfanges.
The cork oaks throw such wonderful shapes with their low, twisting branches, and I love to paint the sun dappled ground with layers of yellow, oranges and purples.
